As a result of injuries sustained in a weather-related mishap while clearing snow earlier today, actor Jeremy Renner is in “critical but stable condition,” according to a statement from his representative.
The Mayor of Kingstown, a returning Paramount series, and Marvel’s “Hawkeye” series on Disney, as well as the Avengers and Captain America movies, all-star Renner, a two-time Oscar candidate.
The accident and Renner’s early Sunday transport to the hospital were known to the deadline. His spokeswoman claimed that he is “getting exceptional treatment” and that his family is currently with him.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that Renner has a house close to Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe. According to the newspaper, a winter storm that blasted the area on New Year’s Eve left 35,000 homes without power in the Northern Nevada counties of Washoe, Carson, Douglas, Storey, and Lyon as of this morning.
For his work in The Hurt Locker, Renner received a Best Actor Oscar nomination in 2010, and for “The Town,” the following year, he received a Supporting Actor nomination.
The second season of the crime drama Mayor of Kingstown premieres on January 15 on Paramount. Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon devised the show, which was made for Par+ by 101 Studios, Bosque Ranch Productions, MTV Entertainment Studios, and Paramount Network.
