Mumbai The actor Kunal Khemu describes his journey into directing and writing as a “therapeutic” and gradual process. Excel Entertainment-backed comedy-drama “Madgaon Express” marks Khemu’s directorial debut. While filming the zombie comedy “Go Goa Gone” in 2013, the 39-year-old actor took an interest in writing and received some instruction.
“As an actor, there are periods of unemployment. You either contemplate what you are doing or you travel. I began taking up biking, playing the guitar, and finding new interests. “I used that experience and whatever ideas I had, I started developing them,” Khemu told PTI in a virtual interview. “I had trained myself to write when I was working on ‘Go Goa Gone.”
The actor claimed to have written the “Madgaon Express” script between 2014 and 2015. “It was a way for me to deal with what I was going through, it was therapeutic for me,” he stated.
