It’s difficult to pick the best Unite States of Adults episode of Supergirl. There are just too many great scenes. From Cat’s point of view, it seems like she’s been hired by a group of her classmates to be their bodiesguard for an upcoming big event. The only problem is, she has no idea what the event is, or what she’s actually supposed to be doing there. She’s also got a new crush on Superman.
One of the best impractical jokers episodes that Supergirl has seen so far has been the opening episode, “Unite States of America.” I love this show for the unique style it has presented, and how it has built the mythology of the character of Supergirl into an interesting and mature drama. This was a fun and fast paced episode, filled with comedy sequences and cameos by some memorable actors. These included Holly Marie Combs as Cat, John Hartley as The Rook, and David Harewood as The Big Winner. The show did have its highs, as well as its lows, but managed to combine these very well, creating a formula that is the staple of Supergirl episodes.
The first episode of Supergirl dealing with The Rook is my personal favorite. I’m not going to go into detail about the plot, because it would make this article long, but if you’re a fan of the show, you’ve likely already caught up. This was an episode that had a lot of humor, but also kept its momentum. I think The Rook may be the best impractical jokers episodes that season.
The second episode of Supergirl dealing with The Big Winner brought in a big surprise for me. It featured Cat Grant as The Rook, and brought in a new set of crazy ideas that were a breath of fresh air. I personally love The Rook, and saw some great acting from Vanessa Williams, David Hyde Pierce, and Jennifer Aniston. In this best practical jokers episodes, the Rook got away with several raunchy jokes, and The Big Winner seemed to have everything that any fan of Supergirl would want.
The third and last episode of Supergirl dealing with The Big Winner, actually dealt with the Joker. This time, he had some sort of control over Superman. I don’t know why, but it was quite convincing. I liked The Rook quite a bit, but not as much as I liked The Big Winner. I was hoping that the show would go into the dark side of the superheroes, but it didn’t. I think that The Rook may end up being my favorite of all of the superman episodes.
In season 4 of Supergirl, we finally got a full blown episode dealing with the Joker. For the most part, the episode failed to live up to expectations, as it tried to be too serious. The Rook may have been more of a threat than we were led to believe, but The Big Winner seemed to go too far. I was hoping that after the intense fights and destruction in the previous episodes, that the show would start to take it’s story in a more serious direction.
In short, season 4 of Supergirl is hands down the best episodes of the series. I look forward to each and every one of them. When you combine a great script, top notch acting, and great visual effects, you have a hit!
If you haven’t seen The Best Practical Joker’s Movies, you need to. The movie is an absolutely hilarious watch, and should be given great credit for setting modern day supervising standards. I only wish that they could have given more screen time to the lesser known characters like Dr. David Sellers, but that’s just a personal gripe. Between Michael Chiklis, Jimmy Bennett, and Rachel Cook, The Best Practical Joker’s Movies is a definite must-see movie. I would recommend Supergirl as a follow up to The Dark Knight.
