Carlito’s Way: This movie was among the first releases of 2021, and it ranks right up there with the best ones on the list. Cuba Gooding plays the role of David Kleinfeld, a lawyer who is a bit confused about legal issues. He works with a very reluctant and combative trial lawyer, played by Ed Harris. Both of them add some spice to an already fantastic movie.
Crazy Heart: This is another movie that is on the list. John Travolta plays an ex-convict that ends up in a mental hospital after robbing a bank. He meets and bonds with several other ex-cons. This is a movie that will leave you asking for more, even after watching it.
The Informant! This movie is based upon the novel “The Informant!” by former FBI agent Mark Zucherberg. Zucherberg wrote and directed this film, which tells the story of a foreign intelligence officer working undercover, gathering information on terrorist groups, including the cells that operate in America. You should definitely add The Informant! to your list of Ti Movies to watch.
Kill Bill: This is a spin-off from the successful Chinese film franchise, called Kill Bill. There are several movies to choose from when it comes to this series. One of the most recent releases is the third film, entitled Kill Bill: Volume 3. It is due out in summer 2021. If you like these older Kill Bill movies, you may want to find someplace to put this one on your list.
Tin Star: This is actually my favorite amongst all the Ti Movies on the list. It is the Korean movie version of the classic detective story, set in present day Korea. A star studded cast plays the main characters, with Kim Sung Hee playing the lead role. This is definitely a film you have to see if you have never seen it before. The movie is subtitled in Korean and English, so you should have no problems getting the hang of the action, music, and story.
All in all, you should be able to make a list of all the Ti Movies to come out this year, if you have been avoiding them due to the length of time between seasons. Watch any of these first, if you can. Then you will know if you are comfortable with watching these movies, or if they are too dark or gory for your tastes.
