To love-ru Darkness is a first person game, which means you will be playing it from the point of view of the character you are controlling. It is set in 2021, twenty-four years after the events of the main event of the game take place. You follow the perspective of Shiki, a member of the “Gang”, a group that handles the illegal trade of drugs in Japan. When the “Gang” spots the arrival of “Tsubasa” (the hero of the story), they begin to worry, as they think this newcomer to the scene might pose a serious threat to their criminal enterprise. To get to the bottom of this matter, Shiki and his gang do their best to clash with Tsubasa.
This turns out to be quite exciting as you control both Shiki and Tsubasa at the same time to beat the enemy and save the girl, basically. You have to select each of them to start the battle and then choose which to fight again. The fighting action is intense and fast-paced. If you like your fighting to be very animated, then this game is for you. The fighting scenes are so realistic and the reactions are so emotional that you will find yourself glued to the screen once you are done with one fight.
Unfortunately, to love ru Darkness uncensored doesn’t come easy. The controls are a bit clunky and the interface can be a bit confusing at times. Sometimes there is a fair amount of backtracking on previous action that you need to do to progress to the next level. The overall pace is slower than you would expect for an fighting game and there is occasionally a lack of satisfaction when winning battles due to poor hit reactions or lacking damage.
However, like most visual novels, to love ru Darkness is to love the intricacies of the story. You will have to read between the lines to fully grasp what is going on. The story is written in a very unusual fashion, as you will have to piece together the clues and make sense of the interactions between the characters. You will also be exposed to supernatural elements which will help to raise some questions regarding who or what is actually taking possession of your boyfriend. You might find yourself wanting to dig even deeper into the story to find out what really is going on.
Overall, to love ru Darkness uncensored is to love gaming. This game will make you question everything, including your own ability to analyze what you are reading. If you have never played this type of game before, then it would be in your best interest to start with the trial version to see if you enjoy the story and the fast paced action. The downside to this game is that the story is only 60 minutes long, which is not long enough to keep you engaged.
