Traditionally, farmers have been doing animal husbandry in the country’s rural areas. Even today, animal husbandry is considered a profitable branch of the agriculture sector. In this sequence, the rearing of advanced-breed indigenous cows is being promoted in the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. A social breed has now become the center of attraction in Ballia. Here in the fair is a cow of the ‘HF Cross’ breed, whose price is Rs 1.5 lakh. The special thing about this cow is that it easily tolerates every season. Farmer Paras Nath Yadav, a resident of Mirpur in Ballia district, said that this cow is pregnant for the first time. The price of this cow is one and a half lakh rupees.

‘HF Cross’ breed cow

This cow will complete 9 months of pregnancy on 20th November. This cow is of the ‘HF Cross’ breed. Whenever it comes to cow rearing, the Gir breed cow is discussed. But the ‘HF Cross’ breed cow can produce more milk than the Gir cow. It is generally believed that under good conditions, a Gir cow can give 10 to 15 liters of milk in a day.

Production of 30 liters of milk in a day

He said that its milk is estimated to be up to 20-30 liters because its mother used to give it 30 liters of milk. There is no fuss in feeding it. It eats whatever it gets with great relish. It is fed jaggery, Khari, bran, husk, and berseem fodder, etc. The biggest specialty is that it does not fall ill easily. Even if something happens, it recovers very easily. It tolerates every weather, be it heat or cold. Neither does it have the problem of panting nor does it have the problem of sticking out its tongue. Right now it has only four teeth.

There is a queue of people to buy the cow

Farmer Paras Nath Yadav says that he has come to sell this cow at the historic and mythological Dadri cattle fair of Ballia. Many customers are bidding to buy this special breed of cow, but we will not sell this cow for less than Rs 1.5 lakh. Its height is 5 feet 6 inches, while it is 11 feet long.

Why is rearing a cow better?

The owner of the cow, Paras Nath, a resident of Nirpur, said that buffalo milk is thick. It has a high-fat content, which makes it more suitable for making curd and cheese. Cow milk is easily digested and calcium and other nutrients are found in abundance in it. Cow rearing is cheaper than buffalo rearing. Especially if you rear cows of the indigenous breed, you can earn more.
