As WIFR reports, “Gary Casa, owner of Casable Farms located just outside of Eldridge, says he has been raising chicks at the Mississippi Valley Fair for about 20 years.

“We raise about three dozen baby chicks every day here at the fair,” Casa said. “This morning, I went to the incubator to take out the chicks like I always do, and it looked a little weird to me.” The chick was born with 4 legs. This drew a lot of attention as people flocked to try something they would never see again.

Casa also said that the baby chick is “fine. He’s eating, eating. I don’t see anything except the legs – two extra legs – that’s something extraordinary,” he said. The chick will remain at Casa’s family farm.

The chick According to DVM, most of the time, these birds can live normal healthy lives without the terrible effects caused by disease. Sometimes a vet can even remove the extra limbs.

Nature is just so ridiculously brilliant! We hope this baby chick continues to thrive and grow. This is not the only unusual animal to come to light.
