Pushkar cattle fair begins with a camels rally, with camels worth Rs 30 lakh and horses worth Rs 42 lakh sold on the very first day.

Camels Rally: The biggest cattle fair has begun in Pushkar (Ajmer), Rajasthan. Along with the sale of animals, there will be many types of competitions every day at the fair. It has a special camel dance and camel decoration competition. A large number of foreigners also come to see the fair.

People from not only the country but also abroad await the Pushkar cattle fair held every year. The fair has been inaugurated. Once again the fair began with the centuries-old tradition. Although it was banned, the seven-day fair began with the camel rally. As soon as the fair began, the buying and selling of animals also began. On the very first day, 227 animals worth Rs 72 lakh were sold.

More horses have come to the fair than camels. For the first time, Punganur cows have also come. Donkeys have not been allowed to enter the fair till the inauguration. Every year camel dance and camel decoration competitions remain the center of attraction, especially for foreigners. Apart from watching it, foreign journalists also come to cover it. A football match has also been organized between Indians and foreigners at the fair. 

Trouble increased as camels were seen less than horses. The figures of the departments related to the organization of the fair show that more horses have come to the fair than camels. By the time the fair started, the number of horses reaching the ground was 4262. Whereas the number of camels has remained only 3116. Whereas this year the Camel Year 2024 is being celebrated by the UNO. It was announced by the UNO to save camels. Not only this, according to the livestock census of the year 2019, the number of camels is decreasing rapidly. 

Know what will happen in the fair till November 15

Today, i.e. on November 10, there will be a Langdi Tang and Gilli Danda competition between Desi vs Videshi at the fair. Along with this, there will also be a camel dance and camel’s sixteen adornments competition. On November 11, there will be a Kabaddi competition between Desi vs Videshi. Along with this, a horse dance competition will also be organized. 

On November 12, a spiritual padayatra will be taken out along with a female horse (mare) competition. On November 13, there will be a male horse (horse) competition, a cricket match between Desi vs Videshi in the style of the film Lagaan, a foreigners’ Shaan-e-Mustache, Tilak and Safa competition, crossbreed, Gir cow and buffalo competition.

On November 14, there will be a camel competition, the best animal of the fair will be declared, and sand art and Matka race competition will be held. On November 15, the biggest attraction of the fair will be the camel parade. The special thing is that all these competitions will be held from morning to afternoon and cultural programs will be held in the evening. 

During the program, there will be Fusion Music, Anirudh Verma, Mumbai on November 10, Desert Symphony, Padmashree Anwar Khan on November 11, Bhajan Sandhya, Padmashree Anoop Jalota on November 12, Best of Rajasthan, Padmashree Gulabo Sapera on November 13 and Kailash Kher Night on November 14. The fair will conclude with Aarti on November 15.
