It’s close to impossible at this point to give an exact release date for High Rise Invasion Season 2. However, a more realistic release date might come down the second half of twenty20. Yes, that’s two years away! Two years! Two whole years of non-stop excitement and fanfare.
That being said, it is understandable if you are anxious about the second season of this crime-anthology TV show. You likely want to know when we will find out if Detectorists Victoria, Antonia, and Jude are going to solve the mystery of the first season’s suspects. You also probably want to know what happens in the second season’s final episodes. (You have my word for it that there will be plenty of twists and turns and surprise endings!)
If you are one of the many people who just can’t wait for High Rise Invasion Season 2 to begin on Friday nights at 9pm on Fox Network, I understand your feelings. After all, the first season ended on a strong note with the reveal of the killer Dolls. With that series premiere, I was glued to this TV show like a man glued to the front of a speeding train. And although I didn’t care for the violence, it was thrilling to watch the unlikely heroes take on the worst villains in town.
I think it will be interesting how this long awaited second season plays out. I have a hard time imagining that the mastermind behind the high rise invasion may still be at large. I also wonder how long it will take for loyal Dolls fans to forgive and forget. I’m sure some of the characters from the first season will appear, but how long before we see their former selves?
I think the answer is near. One thing I have to mention is that the anime adaptation of L. J. Smith’s high rise invasion manga series is actually very good. Not only is the animation great, the story is engaging and original. The first season was a little less well told, but I enjoyed it for its slice of life story and unique style of anime storytelling.
This second season looks to bring back the slice of life story with a more active approach to the story’s events. I don’t think they’ve completely nailed down every loose end from the first season, but it looks like they have. If I had to pick a favorite character from the first season of the anime adaptation of L. J. Smith’s popular manga, it would definitely be Makino Koichi, the new leader of the Dolls group. I think she has a more serious look about her than what we’ve seen in the past, which lends more credibility to the supernatural aspect of the series.
The other major change is the setting of the anime. The second season of the high rise invasion series takes place in Shokakuza, an island off the coast of Japan. The city is depicted as a very dark and dangerous place, full of corporate crime and shady political figures. For fans of the dark urban fantasy genre, this setting may be a little bit too much for them. But if you are looking for a much more realistic and edgy setting for your manga series, I suggest Shokakuza.
One thing I do recommend is checking out the first season of the anime before the second season of the high rise invasion season 2 comes out. While there are some major differences between the two seasons, the first season is the beginning of the story, and it’s a great watch to catch up on what’s been happening so far. The second season is where the anime takes a serious look at the politics and human nature behind the crime fighting. You will definitely want to catch up on the first episodes to see how everything will play out in the end.
