The Pongal festival saw one of the biggest box office clashes in Tamil cinema as Vijay’s Varisu and Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu both released on the same day. As both movies have finished their 25-day theatrical runs, Varisu has surpassed Thunivu at the box office. Varisu’s box office collection (worldwide gross) is over 300 crore to over 250 crore.
Varisu
Both movies are almost finished with their current run in theaters. Despite their differences, both have proven to be successful businesses, according to trade sources. The youngest son in the family drama Varisu, which also stars Vijay, battles his two older brothers for control of their father’s business empire.
The movie, which was also Vijay’s Telugu debut, was directed by Vamshi Paidipally and also had a Tamil and a Telugu version. In order to officially declare that the Varisu box office collection had suppressed the Rs.300 crore club internationally, The film’s creators have unveiled a poster.

Vijay is currently filming Leo, which will be his first collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj since Master. It also stars Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Myskin, Gautam Menon, and Priya Anand. It is anticipated to be a high-octane gangster movie.
Leo
Leo was announced recently in a promotional video by the film’s creators. The team is currently filming the first schedule in Kashmir, where the promo was exclusively shot.
