In the cold season, animals are likely to get cold, fever, gallbladder, hand foot, and mouth disease. To protect animals from weather-related diseases, livestock owners can adopt these easy methods. These methods are as follows.
In the winter season, animals should be made to wear jute sacks. Jute sacks keep the body of animals warm, which protects them from cold.

The animal should be fed 250 grams of jaggery every day. Feed mustard cake.
Also, give rock salt to the animal, this will increase the thirst of the animal, due to which the animal will be able to drink a sufficient amount of water, so that there will be no shortage of water in its body.
Feed more dry fodder to the animal in winter, in this keep two parts of dry fodder and one part of green fodder. In this way, feed the animal in a ratio of 2:1.
During winters, animals should be given warm water so that the food consumed can be easily digested.
Foot and Mouth Disease in Cow and Buffalo
Animals suffer from Foot and Mouth Disease. Once animals get this disease, it affects them for life. At the beginning of this disease, the body temperature of the animal increases, which lasts for a few days. After this, the animal gets blisters in its mouth. The animal loses its appetite. This reduces the milk production of the animal. Wounds start appearing in the hoofs of the animal. Sometimes these blisters also appear on the udders and teats. Due to blisters in the mouth, the animal is unable to eat anything. Saliva keeps falling from the mouth of the animal suffering from this disease.
How to prevent Foot and Mouth Disease
This disease can be prevented by giving the vaccine for Foot and Mouth Disease or Galghotu to the animal. After getting this vaccine, the animal may have a fever for one to two days but it does not have any adverse effect on the health of the animal. It is completely safe. The point to be noted here is that this vaccine is not given to cows and buffaloes of seven to eight months of pregnancy. Animal owners can get this vaccine for their animals by going to the district veterinary hospital. Getting this vaccine in the months of October-November and April-May prevents the disease.
