Netizens couldn’t help but laugh when they saw a funny video of a cat debating between treats and affection. The owner of that cat said that the animal showed excessive greed.
In a post shared on TikTok in August, via @rachelporteous0, the kitty is chilling with her dad, with nowhere in sight, until she shakes a bag of treats and changes the game.
Greedy Cat Gets Stuck in Hilariously Awkward Position!
As soon as the cat hears the noise, her face can be seen popping out of her dad’s sleeves, exposed enough to allow her to eat the treats, without giving up the warm temperature and comfort of cuddles.
“As you snuggle with dad, listen to mom pass the pack of Dreamies,” reads the text on the scale shown in the clip. It’s accompanied by a caption that adds, “Greed has reached new levels in our house today.”
As the clip certainly shows, cats love food and if it were up to them, they would never stop eating. But as an owner, you need to make sure your pet doesn’t overeat, as it could cause diseases like obesity and diabetes in the long run.
Catster says that even as newborns, kittens should be fed milk, likely their mother’s milk or milk components, and only when they’re around 4 to 5 weeks old can you start incorporating wet food into their diet.
Up to 18 weeks, kittens should consume no more than 0.6 oz of dry food or 2.3 oz of wet food, then you can increase the amount of food each month until they reach adulthood.
Adult cats between 1 and 10 years of age should consume no more than 2.1 oz to 3.7 oz of dry food or 5.6 oz to 11.8 oz of wet food per day, likely spread over 3 meals.
