According to animal experts, if the buffalo does not come in heat after two to two and a half years, it should be treated immediately. Although infertility is a big problem, if the cattle keeper becomes a little alert, the infertility of cows and buffaloes can be overcome. About 30 percent of the dairy animals across the country have the problem of infertility.
Animal husbandry is such a business whose cost is flexible. This is said because until the cow-buffalo gives birth, the cattle keeper feeds it only to fill his stomach. During this time, there is no production from the animal. It means that only after giving birth, the cow-buffalo starts giving milk, so along with the cost, profit also starts coming. But during animal husbandry, such occasions often come when the cow-buffalo does not get pregnant at a fixed time. Because for some reason, cattle keepers are not able to know when the cows and buffaloes are coming in heat and when they are not.
Animal experts say that to earn good profits in animal husbandry, the cows and buffaloes must come in heat on time. Because until the buffalo does not come in heat, it will not get pregnant. According to experts, a two to two-and-a-half-year-old non-milking buffalo also eats as much as a milk-giving buffalo. Therefore, it is very important for the cattle keepers that the buffalo comes in heat on time.
The real cure for infertility is timely treatment. According to Dr. Mrigank Honparkhe, Director, Center of Advanced Faculty Training (CAFT), Gadvasu, we run programs on the topic “Advanced Insights on Theriogenology to Ameliorate Reproductive Health of Domestic Animals”. Under this, we first tell the dairy farmer that if they want their animals not to have the problem of infertility, then the first thing they have to do is not delay in getting the infertility treatment.
The older the infertility, the more difficult it will be to treat it. Therefore, it is important to get the animals examined at the right time. If the buffalo does not come on heat in two to two and a half years, then wait for two to three months at the most, if it still does not come on heat, then get your animal examined immediately. The same is true with the cow. If the cow does not come on heat in one and a half years, then also consult a doctor after waiting for three months.
Do this after the first child is born Care of cows and buffaloes
Dr. Mrigank says that even after giving birth once, cows and buffaloes face complaints of infertility. Therefore, if a cow or buffalo gives birth once, do not delay in getting pregnant again. Usually, a gap of two months is kept after the first calving. Some cattle keepers increase this gap, but it is advised that cattle keepers should not keep this gap too long. The more the gap, the more the chances of infertility problems can increase. Therefore, do not consider infertility a serious disease, by paying attention to small things, the disease of infertility can be eradicated from its roots.
