To do this, UPL has partnered with international company CH4 Global, which has created a livestock feed that reduces methane emissions, called Methane Tamer. Both companies will together sell this product in many countries.

Methane gas is formed due to bacteria in the stomach of animals. It is considered extremely dangerous for the environment. According to the report, if there is methane gas in a closed place, then there is a lack of oxygen there, which becomes fatal. The amount of methane gas emitted by cows’ burps is equal to the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by a car in a year. Such dangerous gas comes out of the stomachs of animals and reaches the atmosphere, which is dangerous for their health as well as human health and the climate. UPL and CH4 Global have signed an agreement to reduce the problem of methane formation in animals.

What is CH4 Global’s Methane Tamer
CH4 Worldwide’s flagship product, Methane Tamer, is a livestock feed supplement based on Asparagopsis algae. Several studies have said that its use can reduce methane emissions in cattle by up to 90 percent. Feeding Methane Tamer as animal feed also improves animal digestion.
UPL will sell Methane Tamer with its product
UPL’s statement said that CH4 Global’s Methane Tamer cattle feed additive will create a business model for selling in every market. The program aims to help the livestock sector reduce methane gas emissions by using environmentally friendly animal feed solutions. Methane Tamer will be integrated with UPL’s existing feed formulations and sold in target areas.
Methane is 30 times more harmful than carbon dioxide, according to the CEO
UPL Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer Jai Shroff said that through this partnership we have moved towards completing the efforts to reduce agricultural greenhouse gases. He said that methane gas is about 30 times more harmful to global warming than carbon dioxide. This initiative will offer a new model for livestock which can be scaled globally.
