National Gopal Ratna Awards: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) has announced the winners of the National Gopal Ratna Award (NGRA), one of the highest national awards in the livestock and dairy sector, for the year 2024. The awards were given on 26 November 2024 at the Manekshaw Center, New Delhi, by the Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Ministry.
National Gopal Ratna Awards are announced for doing something different in dairy and animal husbandry. These awards are given yearly for individual animal husbandry, cooperatives, dairy farms, and technology. The awards for the year 2024 have also been announced.

According to the list released by the ministry, a total of 15 people will be given Gopal Ratna Awards across the country. The Union Minister of Animal Husbandry and Dairy will give these awards to everyone during a program organized in New Delhi on November 26. This time a special category has been added for the North-Eastern states in the Gopal Ratna Awards. Its purpose is to promote dairy development in this region.
The award will carry a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh for the first place, Rs 3 lakh for the second place, Rs 2 lakh for the third place, and Rs 2 lakh as a special award for the North-Eastern region. 15 people have been selected from a total of 2574 applications.
