Goat breeders and scientists from across the country will gather in Goat Conclave, and milk and meat will be discussed for two days

Barbara, Jakhrana, Jamnapari, and Beetal breed goats will be displayed at the Goat Research Institute (CIRG), Mathura Goat Conclave. Muzaffarnagari sheep, which weigh the most among sheep, have also been included in the exhibition. Companies that make medicines, feed, and equipment for goats are also participating in the conclave.

The conclave is being organized by the Central Goat Research Institute (CIRG), Mathura. On this occasion, an exhibition of some special breeds of goats in the country will also be held. This is the first time that a goat conclave is going to be organized. Earlier only goat fairs were organized. The conclave is being organized on 18 and 19 November 2024.

CIRG Director Dr. Manish Kumar Chetli told Kisan Take that the first day of the two-day Goat Conclave will be in the name of scientists. All these people will give information to goat farmers on how to do goat rearing in a scientific way and artificial insemination. Along with this, information will also be given on how to feed, fodder, and drinking water for goats. Awareness will be created on how to do goat rearing according to the weather. Also, goat rearers who scientifically rear goats will share their experiences.

People associated with goat milk and meat business will discuss its market. Companies that prepare goat feed, medicine companies, and companies that prepare housing for goats will also join this Goat Conclave. On this occasion, there will be competitions for goats that give more milk, beauty contests, and goats with muscle power. Prizes will also be given to the rearers of goats that come first.

43-year-old CIRG is spread over 756 acres

Director Manish Kumar Chetli said that our institute is spread over 756 acres of land. It is in Makhudum village, Farah, Mathura. Here, training is given for rearing goats of Barbari, Jamnapari, Jakharana, and Beetal breeds and sheep of Muzaffarnagar breed. In our institute, goats of all three breeds as well as sheep are present. Research on sheep and goats is also done from time to time. Training is also given by forming different batches for sheep and goat rearing.
