Say hello to a new Instagram superstar – Loki, a gorgeous low-content wolfdog (a mix of Husky, Malamute, and some Arctic Wolf). He’s big, fluffy, and traveling around the world with his faithful human companion-slash-owner Kelly Lund.
Loki the Wolfdog
They are inseparable on their travels and always choose the most scenic direction. If you have a Husky or Malamute at home, you may have noticed that they need lots of open space to function properly and not be sad most of the time. Kelly says, “I firmly believe that domestic dogs should not spend their entire lives indoors or outdoors.
It troubles me to see this. We want to encourage people to get outside, explore their surroundings, and spend time with their pups. Wolfdogs should either be killed or abandoned at shelters (by the dogs, not the owners, although that would be even better) because many owners certainly have no idea how to deal with them.
Puppies left alone in tiny cages, waiting for someone to come back, are just tragic. Most people don’t have the time to give these giant dogs the socialization and exercise they need. You must have full coverage that covers any damages in the event you leave a wolfdog alone at home.
And so, determined to give his giant dog the exercise he needs, Lund let Loki roam freely in some of the most incredible-looking natural places in Colorado: forests, cliffs, rocks and mountains, and jaw-dropping waterfalls. After creating an Instagram profile for Loki, over 370,000 users joined his travels. To see Loki on Instagram.
P.S. Remember, if you don’t have the time to spend with your dog, if you don’t know anything about training him and most importantly, if you are interested in bringing home a wolfdog because it is cute and fluffy and your friends will be jealous of you – don’t do it!
