This video of a hedgehog happily playing with toys is one of the best things on the internet
When most people think about hedgehogs, they cannot help but imagine lonely animals that do not move much, but that is not what this video shows. The active hedgehog is depicted to be tossing toys around and when doing so, shaking them to and fro as happy puppies do. The sweetest scene is at the end of the video when, coming to get a teddy bear, the hedgehog hates the owner, who wants to take the toy dinosaur away.
Of course, Harry, Milk, Latte’s Instagram page isn’t in English, but the cute video will melt any punnets across the world. Many viewers probably could not believe their ears and eyes when they saw a hedgehog that could mimic a puppy playing with a ball.
One of the little-known and unusual animals that are highly recommended for petting is the hedgehog. In certain states, they are classified as outlawed species being unfit to be possessed and used as household pets and accessories but in some other states they are legal and their owners derive fun and novelty from this. Despite having eyelids and a certain ability to see, hedgehogs in fact don’t have very good vision, with their hearing and smell senses reported to be much sharper. They can roll into a ball and this is one of the reasons you will often hear of that they employ going into a ball as a form of defense mechanism due to the fact that it will protect them against their attackers.
The hedgehogs have got their body protected with the spines, measuring between 5000 to 7000 quills and when threatened the quills are raised. But unlike porcupines, their quills are not toxic and are simply barbed to hold on to the body part that is trying to remove it. Hedgehogs are not as lazy as one can assume, in fact, hedgehogs are relatively active and even playful at times, during which they go foraging in search of food. But they need to be closely monitored when out of the cage to avoid get in to some form of danger like our family pets.
