Jamie Lopez the creator of “Babydoll Beauty Couture” and the star of WE TV’s “Super Sized Salon” dies at the age of 37.
Jamie Lopez’s demise was verified by the Instagram account of the beauty salon. The announcement was shared next to a display of pictures appreciating Lopez.
“In place of the Babydoll Beauty Couture unit, we unhappily disclose, with extreme pain. The demise of The Creator and Proprietor of Babydoll Beauty Couture, The Fabulous Jamie Lopez,” read the post. “On behalf of the Babydoll family, we respectfully request that you give us time to process this dreadful loss. More messages and plans will be disclosed soon.”
“We have experienced an unimaginable loss and acknowledge the time and space to regret in peace,” the post continued. Please keep our Babydoll family and team in your thoughts and prayers. The official cause of death has yet to be determined. However, TMZ reports that the reality star died of heart complications over the weekend. Lopez was also preparing to film the second season of Super Sized Salon when she died, according to the outlet.

The first season of Super Sized Salon premiered in July 2022 and followed Lopez and the staff at Babydoll Beauty Couture. The beauty salon Lopez founded after experiencing plus-size discrimination in the beauty industry. The show emphasizes the loud and diverse personalities as well as the consistent workplace drama. While all the crew strives to fulfill their mission of making all women feel beautiful.
During the first season, Lopez also discussed her weight loss, detailing how she learned to walk again after losing 400 pounds. Lopez revealed in a show trailer
that she weighed 846 pounds at one point in her life.
“It irritates me to be mistreated because of my size and to not have a place where I can get beautiful,” she told Yahoo Beauty in 2017. “I want women to feel beautiful, confident, and sexy when they leave my salon after receiving services.”
